This is an extremely rare Bulgarian Royal award cypher Royalty monogram badge to celebrate the 18th birthday and adulthood of the Bulgarian Queen / Princess Eudoxia. Her Highness Eudoxia Augusta Philippine Clementine Maria was Princess of Bulgaria, Princess of Saxe-Coburg / Saxony and Coburg and Gotha / Germany, Duchess of Saxony / Germany. Since October 5th, 1908 HRH Eudoxia Augusta Philippine Clementine Maria was Princess of Bulgaria, Princess of the German Kingdom state of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Duchess of Saxony and since the end of World War I HRH Eudoxia Augusta Philippine Clementine Maria becomes Princess of Bulgaria. She was born in Sofia, on January 17th, 1898. On a special ceremony several such award badges were presented to a few closest to the Royal family people. Probably no more than 20 pieces were awarded, but so far this is the only example known to exist. Made out of 14 karat solid gold. Badge is decorated with 17 diamonds and 7 sapphires. Great diamond and sapphire contrast! The badge is in the form of the Royal Queen / Princess Eudoxia monogram - the letter 'E'. Dimensions are 40 mm high x 20 mm in its widest part. Extremely rare piece - probably unique and a true collector item. Similar Royal German Royalty cyphers / monograms are catalogued in all major German catalogues, but most of them don't even have a price quotation... |
